🥕 Ingredients You Need


  • Carrots (fresh, red): 1 kg (about 6–8 large carrots)
  • Full-fat milk: 1 liter
  • Sugar: 3/4 to 1 cup (adjust to taste)
  • Ghee (clarified butter): 4 tablespoons
  • Cardamom powder: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cashews: 10–12 (chopped)
  • Almonds: 10–12 (sliced)
  • Raisins: 2 tablespoons 

Instructions 


  1. Wash and Grate Carrots
    • Wash, peel, and grate the carrots using a grater or food processor.
  1. Cook Carrots with Milk
    • Heat a heavy-bottomed pan or kadhai.
    • Add the grated carrots and milk.
    • Cook on medium flame, stirring frequently, until the milk reduces and the carrots become soft (about 30–40 minutes).
  1. Add Sugar & Cardamom
    • Stir in the sugar. The mixture will liquefy slightly.
    • Keep cooking and stirring until the mixture thickens again.
  1. Add Ghee & Dry Fruits
    • Add the ghee and mix well.
    • Add cardamom powder, chopped cashews, almonds, and raisins.
    • Continue to cook until the halwa starts leaving the sides of the pan and becomes glossy (about 10–15 minutes)
