For the Cashew Paste
- ½ cup cashew nuts (kaju)
- ¼ cup warm water
For the Gravy
- 250g paneer, cubed
- 2 medium onions, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, pureed
- 2 tbsp oil or butter
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 green chili, chopped
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- ½ tsp garam masala
- ½ tsp cumin seeds
- Salt to taste
- ½ cup fresh cream
- 1 tbsp kasuri methi (crushed)
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Step-by-Step Kaju Paneer Masala Recipe
Step 1: Make the Cashew Paste
Soak the cashews in warm water for about 15 minutes. Blend them with a little water to make a smooth and creamy paste. Set aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Masala Base
Heat butter or oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they become golden brown.
Add the ginger-garlic paste and green chili. Cook for a minute until fragrant.
Now add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften completely and turn mushy.
